Then match the blade to the saw by diameter and bore, and never fit a blade larger than the saw is rated for. Tooth count sets the cut. Fewer teeth cut faster and suit ripping timber, while more teeth cut slower and leave a cleaner edge for crosscuts, mitres, laminate and aluminium. Thin kerf blades remove less material and put less load on the saw, while standard kerf blades give a stiffer plate.
