Gates Tri-Power notched (cogged) V-belts have notches molded into the underside for additional flexibility, reducing heat buildup and allowing smaller diameter pulleys than equivalent wrapped belts. Across this v belt range, the cogged underside is the same on every length variant, so you can step up or down a length without changing the drive. Specifying a Gates cogged v belt keeps you inside the published power rating tables for the section.
