ABOUT THIS CATEGORY
Couplings are used to connect two power transmission shafts together whilst compensating for misalignments and vibrations. Jaw couplings are for general, all-purpose applications and consist of a pair of toothed hubs with a flexible elastomeric insert, known as a coupling spider or coupling element, in between, to absorb vibrations. Cone ring couplings are made up of two flanges interlocked by steel pins mounted with tapered rubber rings that allow for vibrations. Cone ring couplings are suitable for pumps, agitators and compressors. HRC couplings comprise a pair of flanges (B, H or F-type) sandwiched together with a rubber element inbetween. They are designed for high compression applications, such as electric motors and combustion engines.
