The CRC SmartWasher is a bioremediation-based parts washing system — an alternative to solvent or aqueous washers that uses naturally occurring, non-pathogenic microbes to break down oil, grease and carbon-based contaminants into water and carbon dioxide, rather than chemical solvents. This collection covers the washer units and Starter Kits — the machines themselves.
Already running a SmartWasher and need OzzyJuice refills, OzzyMat filters or a spare part? See SmartWasher Consumables & Spares.
How it works
- Oil and grease contaminants enter the OzzyJuice cleaning solution as parts are washed
- A surfactant in the solution emulsifies the oil
- Naturally occurring Ozzy microbes consume the emulsified oil
- The oil converts into water and carbon dioxide, so the solution keeps working without constant fluid changes

Starter Kits
Each washer is also available as a complete Starter Kit (SW-23-4/8, SW-25-8, SW-28-4/8, SW-37-4/8/X1 — the number denotes the OzzyJuice pack included), bundling the unit with its first fill of cleaning solution so it's ready to run out of the box. Once that first fill runs low, refills and every other consumable are in the Consumables & Spares collection.
Why bioremediation over solvent washers
- No employee contact with harmful solvents — the cleaning fluid is non-flammable and non-hazardous
- Removes the recurring cost of solvent purchases, fluid disposal and hazardous waste removal contracts
- Self-cleaning solution means no scheduled fluid changes and minimal liquid waste
- Meets or exceeds the cleaning performance of manual solvent and aqueous parts washers on grease, oil and carbon
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between the SW-23, SW-28 and SW-37?
The SW-23 is a mobile parts and brake washer sized for general workshop use, the SW-28 SuperSink is a stationary sink-style washing station, and the SW-37 is a mobile heavyweight washer built for larger components. See the size table above for exact dimensions.
What is OzzyJuice and how often does it need replacing?
OzzyJuice is CRC's bioremediating cleaning solution. Naturally occurring, non-pathogenic Ozzy microbes continuously break down the oil and grease that enters it, converting it to water and carbon dioxide — so it doesn't need the frequent fluid changes a solvent washer does.
Is SmartWasher cleaning fluid hazardous or flammable?
No. OzzyJuice is a non-flammable, non-hazardous water-based solution, which avoids the handling, storage and disposal requirements that come with solvent-based parts washers — no hazardous waste removal contracts and no cradle-to-grave liability.
What comes in a SmartWasher Starter Kit?
A Starter Kit bundles the washer unit with its first fill of OzzyJuice cleaning solution, so it's ready to run out of the box. AIMS stocks starter kits across the SW-23, SW-28 and SW-37 range in different OzzyJuice pack sizes.
I need a spare part or refill for my SmartWasher — where do I find it?
See the SmartWasher Consumables & Spares collection for OzzyJuice refills, OzzyMat filters, OzzyBooster, and the full spares range — pump assemblies, heater boxes, control box assemblies, covers, brush and nozzle kits, and more.
