Shipping & Delivery

Everything you need to know about how AIMS ships, when your order will arrive, and what to do if something doesn't land when expected. Last updated 29/06/26.

Free shipping over $299 across metro Australia

Orders over $299 inc GST ship free to metropolitan Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Canberra, Perth and Sydney. Hobart and Launceston freight is quoted at checkout — Tasmania's a long way from Milperra.

Free shipping doesn't apply to:

  • Bulky items — over 1.2m in any dimension or over 30kg
  • Heavy items — full pallets, machinery, anything requiring a tail-lift
  • Dangerous Goods — paints, solvents, propellants, lithium batteries, lubricants in certain classes
  • Clearance items — sale-priced stock where freight is quoted separately

Orders under $299 are charged calculated freight — based on the weight of your order and the destination postcode. You see the freight quote at checkout before you commit.

Dispatch timing — honest about what's in stock vs what we bring in

AIMS carries 130,000+ product lines, but no industrial supplier in Australia stocks every variant of every brand on the shelf. So there's an honest distinction worth making:

  • In-stock items typically ship within 1 business day from our Milperra warehouse. Order before 1pm AEST on a weekday and we'll usually have it on a freight company that afternoon.
  • Items we need to bring in — we'll confirm freight ETA when you place the order. Most special-order items land in our warehouse within 2-5 business days from major suppliers, then ship to you the same day they arrive.

If a delivery date matters to your job, ring us before you order on (02) 9773 0122 or email customerservice@aimsindustrial.com.au. We'll check live stock + confirm a realistic delivery window before you commit.

Freight carriers we use

AIMS uses Australia Post (eParcel + Express Post) for parcels and FedEx for time-sensitive larger consignments. For pallets and oversized freight we use a panel of specialist transport companies — typically Followmont, StarTrack, or TNT depending on destination.

Freight is calculated automatically at checkout based on the weight of your order and its destination. You see the delivery price up front, before you commit — no estimates, no invoice-later surprises.

Tracking your order — where to look first

Every shipped order gets a dispatch confirmation email with:

  • The carrier name
  • The tracking number
  • A direct link to the carrier's tracking page

If your delivery feels overdue, check the tracking link in your dispatch email first — 90% of "where is my order?" enquiries resolve straight from the carrier's tracking page (sorted at depot, out for delivery, delivered to safe drop, awaiting collection at post office). If the tracking shows the parcel is genuinely stuck or missing, then email or call us and we'll chase the carrier from our end.

If you can't find the dispatch email, search your inbox for "AIMS Industrial" or check spam. We always send tracking — if you didn't receive it, ring us and we'll resend.

Realistic delivery times by destination

  • Sydney metro — usually 1-2 business days from dispatch
  • Other capital city metros — usually 2-4 business days from dispatch
  • Regional centres — typically 3-7 business days, sometimes longer to remote depots
  • Remote sites (mining, agricultural, far-north) — case-by-case. We confirm transit time when you order.

These are guides, not guarantees. Australia is a big country and weather, depot congestion, and public holidays all affect transit. If a hard deadline is in play, ring us before ordering so we can talk through carrier options or upgrade to express.

If your delivery is delayed beyond what we quoted

We take freight commitments seriously. If you paid for an Express service and the carrier doesn't deliver within their quoted window:

  1. Check the carrier tracking first — sometimes there's a depot exception (severe weather, address verification) that's already in motion.
  2. Email or call us with your order number — we'll chase the carrier from our end and get an explanation within the same business day.
  3. If the service failed (the carrier didn't deliver within their quoted timeframe and the delay wasn't a customer-side issue), we'll refund the difference between Express and Standard freight, no quibble. We don't keep money for a service that didn't get delivered.

That's not a policy you'll see on most industrial suppliers' websites. It's there because when you pay extra for speed, you should get speed — and when you don't, that should be a known process, not an argument.

Pickup from our Milperra warehouse

You can collect orders from our warehouse at 108 Ashford Ave, Milperra NSW 2214, but please note two things:

  • Pickup is for pre-ordered items only. Order online or by phone first, then collect.
  • AIMS doesn't operate a counter sales area. Drive in, ring the doorbell at warehouse reception, and one of the warehouse team will bring your order out. We're not set up for walk-in browsing.

Warehouse hours for pickup: 07:30 – 15:30, Monday to Friday. Closed weekends and public holidays. If you need to collect outside these hours, ring ahead and we'll do our best to arrange it.

Dangerous Goods (paints, lubricants, aerosols, batteries)

Many products in our catalogue are classified as Dangerous Goods under Australian transport regulations — paints, solvents, lubricants in certain classes, aerosol products, and lithium-ion batteries above certain ratings.

DG products ship via road freight only — they can't go by air. That means:

  • Domestic DG freight is slightly slower than non-DG (no air upgrades available, road only)
  • International DG export — FedEx and Australia Post can't carry most DG products internationally. AIMS uses specialist DG forwarders for international DG shipments. Contact us with the destination + product list and we'll get a DG-compliant freight quote.

New Zealand and International shipping

AIMS ships anywhere in the world — we've dispatched trade orders to every continent except Antarctica. Recent export markets include New Zealand, the USA, the UK, Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, UAE and France, but the list isn't a limit. Any product, any country, any size from envelope to pallet — quoted on application.

Key policy points for international orders:

  • Primary Incoterms are EXW (you arrange freight from our warehouse) and CIF (we arrange freight + marine insurance to your nominated port). Customer's own freight under FCA/FOB also accepted.
  • Payment is bank transfer in AUD only, paid in full before goods dispatch. No international credit accounts and no international credit card payments — consistent across first-time and repeat buyers.
  • All quoting in Australian Dollars (AUD). Exports are issued ex-GST; your destination country's import duties + VAT/GST apply separately.
  • Certification documentation (AS/NZS, ISO, DIN Certificates of Conformity) — we work to provide what's available based on product + manufacturer. Identify your needs in the enquiry so we can confirm before order.
  • Every international shipment is securely packed + photographed before it leaves Milperra. Dispatch photos emailed alongside tracking.

For full international policy + Incoterms + DG forwarder pathway, see our international + export orders page. To start a quote, email sales@aimsindustrial.com.au with product list, destination, and preferred Incoterm.

Order changes after dispatch

Once an order is dispatched, we can't recall it from the carrier. If you need to change an address or cancel after dispatch, the practical path is:

  • Address change in transit — possible with most carriers if requested before the parcel reaches the destination depot. Email us with the new address and we'll request a redirection. Some carriers charge a redirect fee, which we'll pass through at cost.
  • Cancellation after dispatch — easier if we catch it before the carrier marks it for delivery. We can attempt a return-to-sender, but you'll be liable for the original outbound freight + return freight cost.

The cleanest path: ring us before ordering if anything about the delivery is uncertain.
