International + Export Orders from Australia

AIMS Industrial exports trade orders worldwide. We've shipped to every continent except Antarctica — and we'll ship anywhere in the world for any product in our 130,000+ line catalogue. This page covers how international quoting and payment work, the Incoterms we use, the certification documentation we'll work to provide, what changes for Dangerous Goods exports, and how we pack and photograph every international shipment before it leaves Milperra. Last updated 29/06/26.

Where AIMS ships

Anywhere in the world. We've shipped to every continent except Antarctica. If your country isn't somewhere we've recently dispatched to, send the enquiry anyway — we work out the freight pathway, documentation and customs clearance case by case.

Markets where we've recently fulfilled trade orders include New Zealand, the USA, the UK, Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Libya, France, Canada, South Africa and New Caledonia. The list isn't a limit, it's a sample.

What AIMS ships internationally

Anything we sell domestically. Every product category in our catalogue is shippable internationally given the right freight pathway:

  • By size — anything from a small envelope to a full pallet. Single-item samples through to multi-pallet consignments. Freight method matches the consignment size.
  • By category — cutting tools, bearings and power transmission, fasteners, lifting equipment, lubrication, welding, abrasives, hand tools, power tools, PPE, hose and fittings, industrial chemicals, marking and signage, electrical components — every category in the AIMS catalogue.
  • Dangerous Goods exceptions — DG products (paints, certain lubricants, lithium batteries above some ratings, anaerobic adhesives like Loctite SF 7414) need specialist freight pathways. See the Dangerous Goods section below.

Who AIMS exports to

Our international trade buyers fall into three broad categories:

  • Trade distributors and resellers — industrial supplies businesses in other countries sourcing Australian-made products (Sutton Tools cutting tools, Austlift lifting hardware, Recoil thread repair) or specialist Australian distribution lines (Macnaught lubrication equipment, Tap Magic cutting fluids).
  • Manufacturing and engineering buyers — Tier-1 multinationals and regional manufacturers sourcing specific components AIMS holds stock or supply relationships on.
  • Compliance-rated equipment buyers — buyers needing Australian-standard certification documentation (AS/NZS, ISO, DIN) alongside the products. Common requests cover lifting equipment, structural steel, welding consumables, eye and face protection, and high-tensile fasteners.

Most international RFQs land via the sales inbox without fitting a category neatly — we work it out from there.

How international quoting works

  1. Send your enquiry to sales@aimsindustrial.com.au with the products, quantities, delivery address, your preferred Incoterm (or ask us to recommend), and any certification documentation you need (see the Certification section — best to identify your needs upfront so we can confirm what's available before ordering).
  2. We come back within 1 business day with: product price ex-GST (you're exporting), freight quote per your chosen Incoterm, certification documentation we can supply, lead time, and any DG-related notes if applicable. All pricing in Australian Dollars.
  3. You confirm and pay. Bank transfer in AUD before goods dispatch — see the Payment section.
  4. We pack, photograph, and dispatch — every international shipment is securely packed and photographed before it leaves Milperra. Tracking and freight documentation are emailed once the consignment is in motion.

Incoterms — EXW and CIF are our primary methods

AIMS quotes most international orders against one of two Incoterms:

  • EXW (Ex Works) — Milperra, Sydney. You arrange freight and customs clearance from our warehouse. Best for buyers who have their own Australian freight forwarder or established international logistics.
  • CIF (Cost, Insurance, Freight) — to your nominated port. AIMS arranges and pays for freight + marine insurance to the destination port. You handle import duties, VAT/GST in your country, customs clearance, and final delivery from port. Common for new buyers who want AIMS to handle the outbound logistics.

Customer's own freight — if you'd prefer to nominate your own freight carrier (FCA, FOB, or another buyer-arranged Incoterm), tell us at quote stage. We'll release the consignment to your nominated carrier from our warehouse once your payment has cleared.

Payment terms — bank transfer in AUD, before dispatch

AIMS accepts bank transfer in Australian Dollars only, paid in full before goods dispatch. This policy is consistent across first-time buyers and repeat buyers — every international order ships on cleared funds.

  • Bank transfer (TT/SWIFT) in AUD — AIMS bank details supplied on the pro-forma invoice once the order is confirmed.
  • No international credit accounts. AIMS doesn't extend trade credit on international orders. International debt recovery is too risky.
  • No international credit card payments. Fraud and chargeback risk on international card transactions is materially higher than on domestic ones.
  • AUD pricing only. All quotes and invoices are issued in Australian Dollars. The exchange rate at point of payment is your bank's call, not ours.

GST and destination taxes

Australian GST is not payable on exports. All international quotes are issued ex-GST.

Your destination country will typically apply import duties, VAT/GST, customs clearance fees, and sometimes additional regulatory charges to incoming goods. These are payable by you, not by AIMS. The amount depends on the product classification (Harmonised System / HS code), your country's import duty and VAT/GST rates, and any free-trade-agreement relief between Australia and your country (e.g. CER for NZ, the Australia–US FTA, ASEAN preferences). For high-value or sensitive shipments, check with your customs broker before ordering so there are no surprises on landing.

Certification and compliance documentation

AIMS will work to provide certification documentation up front where it's available. What we can supply depends on the product and the manufacturer — some brands hold full compliance documentation against the relevant standards as standard; some require a specific request through the supplier; some products aren't covered by a formal certification at all.

Best practice: identify your certification needs in your enquiry. Tell us which standards your buyer or your project requires (for example AS 4991 for lifting equipment, AS/NZS 1163 for structural steel, ISO 3834 for welding, ISO 898-1 for fasteners), and we'll confirm before you order which documentation we can provide and which we can't. That way there are no gaps after the goods have shipped.

Common certification documentation we work to source includes:

  • AS 4991 — Lifting devices (turnbuckles, eye bolts, lifting magnets, rated slings)
  • AS/NZS 1163 — Structural steel hollow sections
  • AS/NZS 1337.1 — Personal eye protection (medium impact)
  • AS/NZS ISO 3834 — Welding quality requirements
  • AS/NZS 5131 — Structural steelwork (CC3)
  • ISO 898-1 / ISO 3506 — Fasteners mechanical properties
  • DIN standards — for German-spec product lines

If your buying procedure requires documentation outside this list, tell us in the enquiry — we'll check availability with the manufacturer before quoting.

Dangerous Goods exports

A meaningful slice of the AIMS catalogue is classified as Dangerous Goods under international transport regulations — paints and solvents, certain lubricants, lithium-ion batteries above some ratings, anaerobic adhesives (Loctite SF 7414 Torque Marque Seal is a common example), thread sealants, aerosols, and some industrial chemicals.

What changes for DG exports:

  • FedEx and Australia Post International generally can't carry DG products internationally. Their consumer-class international networks decline most DG classifications outright.
  • AIMS uses specialist DG forwarders for international DG shipments — freight companies who hold IATA dangerous goods licences and can handle the documentation, packaging, labelling and clearance requirements properly.
  • DG quotes take longer to assemble — we need to confirm UN numbers, packaging group, total quantity vs limited-quantity exemptions, and destination-country acceptance. Allow 2-3 business days for a comprehensive DG export quote.
  • Some DG products genuinely can't be shipped internationally — particularly aerosols above certain volumes and certain lithium battery classifications. We'll tell you upfront if it's a no-go.

If you're sourcing a DG product internationally, send the destination + product list to sales@aimsindustrial.com.au and we'll work through the DG-compliant freight pathway.

Secure packing and photo evidence

Every international shipment leaves our Milperra warehouse securely packed and photographed. The photos cover the consignment at the point of dispatch — packaging condition, labelling, freight markings, and the final state of the goods before they go on the truck or container.

Why we do this:

  • Evidence of dispatch condition — if a freight-handling issue happens in transit, you've got a photographic baseline of how the consignment looked when it left us.
  • Verification for your goods-in team — your receiving team can match the dispatch photos to the arrival condition without guesswork.
  • Insurance claims — for CIF shipments where AIMS has arranged marine insurance, the dispatch photos support any in-transit claim if the consignment is damaged at sea or in handling.

The photos are emailed to you alongside the tracking + freight documentation when the consignment moves.

People Also Ask

Does AIMS Industrial ship internationally?

Yes — anywhere in the world. AIMS has shipped trade orders to every continent except Antarctica, with recent export markets including New Zealand, the USA, the UK, Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, UAE, France, Canada, and elsewhere. Every category in our 130,000+ line catalogue is shippable internationally given the right freight pathway.

What Incoterms does AIMS use for international shipments?

Primary Incoterms are EXW (Ex Works Milperra Sydney — you arrange freight) and CIF (Cost Insurance Freight to your nominated port — AIMS arranges freight and marine insurance). Customer's own freight under FCA, FOB, or other buyer-arranged terms is also available. Tell us your preference at quote stage.

How do I pay AIMS for an international order?

Bank transfer (TT/SWIFT) in Australian Dollars only, paid in full before goods dispatch. AIMS bank details are supplied on the pro-forma invoice once the order is confirmed. AIMS doesn't accept international credit card payments and doesn't extend international credit accounts — this is consistent across first-time and repeat international buyers.

Does AIMS quote in my local currency?

No — all international quotes and invoices are issued in Australian Dollars (AUD) only. The exchange rate at point of payment is your bank's call. If your procurement system needs a quote in a specific local currency for budget purposes, you can convert at your bank's prevailing rate; the actual invoice will still be in AUD.

Can AIMS provide Certificate of Conformity for AS/NZS standards?

Yes for many products — AIMS works to provide certification documentation up front where it's available. What we can supply depends on the product and the manufacturer. Best practice: identify your certification needs (AS 4991, AS/NZS 1163, AS/NZS 1337.1, ISO 3834, ISO 898-1, etc.) in your enquiry, so we can confirm coverage before you order.

What size shipments does AIMS handle internationally?

Anything from a small envelope through to multi-pallet consignments. Freight method matches the consignment size — courier networks for parcels, specialist international freight forwarders for pallets, ocean freight for multi-pallet container-class shipments.

Can AIMS export Dangerous Goods like Loctite anaerobic adhesives or industrial lubricants?

Yes, via specialist Dangerous Goods forwarders who hold IATA DG licences. FedEx and Australia Post International generally can't carry DG products internationally, so AIMS routes DG exports through DG-compliant freight providers. Allow 2-3 business days for a comprehensive DG export quote. Some DG products (certain aerosols, some lithium battery classifications) genuinely can't be shipped internationally — we'll confirm upfront.

Are AIMS international prices ex-GST?

Yes. Australian GST is not payable on exports, so all international quotes and invoices are issued ex-GST. Your destination country's import duties, VAT/GST and customs clearance charges apply separately depending on your chosen Incoterm and product classification.

Does AIMS photograph international shipments before dispatch?

Yes. Every international shipment is securely packed and photographed at our Milperra warehouse before it leaves. Photos cover packaging condition, labelling, freight markings, and the final state of goods at dispatch. Photos are emailed to you with the tracking + freight documentation when the consignment moves — useful baseline evidence for your goods-in team and for any in-transit insurance claims.
