Choosing strapping
Start with the load. Steel strapping suits heavy, sharp-edged or high-tension loads, and polypropylene strapping is lighter, easier to handle and suits lighter loads. Then match the seals or buckles to the strap type and width, and choose a tensioner and crimper for the same width. Light duty and heavy duty tools are listed, so choose the one that matches the strap thickness and tension you need.
Always check the data sheet. Confirm the strap width and strength, and that the seals and tools suit it. Wear eye and hand protection when cutting or tensioning strap, because it can spring back when it is cut.
