High shear strength of 15 N/mm2 on steel and a 10-minute fixture time make Loctite 609 a dependable retaining compound for bonding bushings, sleeves and cylindrical parts into housings or onto shafts. This green, low-viscosity anaerobic retaining compound augments press fits and bonds close-fitting cylindrical assemblies with a gap fill of 0.15 mm. Qualified to ASTM D5363 and MIL-R-46082B, it operates from -55 to +150°C. Available in 10 ml and 50 ml for workshop and production use.

LOCTITE 609 is a green, high-strength, anaerobic-curing retaining compound for locking bushings and sleeves in housings on shafts, augmenting press fits, or bonding any close-fitting cylindrical parts. Cures in the absence of air between close-fitting metal surfaces, providing a high-strength, corrosion-free bond. Shear strength, steel: 15.0 N/mm2 (2300 psi). Fixture time: 10 min. Gap fill: 0.15 mm. Viscosity: 120 mPa·s. Specific gravity: 1.1. Operating temperature: -55 to +150°C. Approvals: ASTM D5363, MIL-R-46082B (for existing designs).
