5-3 Blind Rivet, 304 Stainless Steel - RIVA253
Available
The Open Type Blind Rivet, 304 Stainless Steel is a blind rivet set from one side of the work with a rivet tool. The mandrel is pulled through the rivet body, which expands to clamp the sheet, and the mandrel then breaks off.
A2 (304) stainless steel is the common general-purpose austenitic grade. It resists corrosion well indoors, in fresh water and in most general outdoor conditions, but it is not recommended where chlorides are present, such as coastal, pool and marine settings. Choose A4 (316) there.
The range runs to 20 variants, covering sizes 4-2 to 6-12. Variants are supplied in packs of 250 to 1000, depending on size.
In wet conditions, keep stainless steel apart from aluminium and galvanised steel with a washer or sleeve, to reduce the risk of galvanic corrosion.

Selecting the right option
Choose the rivet diameter and grip range to suit the material stack thickness. Sizes are shown as diameter-length code (for example 4-2 for 4 mm diameter and grip code 2). Check that the rivet tool you own can set stainless steel rivets of that diameter. Near the coast, around pools or in marine settings, use the A4 (316) version instead: Rivet A4 (316) Open Type Stainless Steel.
