The Sutton T699 is a spiral flute tap (R50 spiral, UNI designation, Black Magic range) for BSPF (G) threads, made from powder metallurgy, vanadium grade high speed steel (PM-HSSE V3) with a Hardlube (TiAlN + WC/C) coating. This listing covers one size: G 1/8 x 28 TPI.
The 50° right-hand spiral flute suits blind holes in long chipping materials: the high helix angle curls the chips and transports them back out of the hole. The tap cuts on reversal, so the flutes have rake on both front and back faces. The UNI designation is for normal, general purpose materials, with a normal rake angle and high thread relief, in powder metal high speed steel. The chamfer is Form C (2.5 x P), generally for blind holes.
The thread standard is ISO 228. The tap is built to DIN 5156: reduced shank with square drive.
