Made in 304 (A2) stainless steel, the UNC Hex Socket Cap Head Screw is a cylindrical-head screw driven by a hex key (Allen key) set into the head. The recessed drive allows high tightening force in a compact space and the head can sit below the surface in a counterbore.
You can choose from 48 variants, covering sizes 8-32 to 1/2" and lengths 1/4" to 3". Variants are supplied in packs of 25 to 100, depending on size.
Made from 304 (A2) stainless steel, a standard austenitic grade with good everyday corrosion resistance. It is a sound choice away from the coast; in chloride-exposed settings, step up to 316 (A4). UNC (Unified National Coarse) is the coarse inch-based thread. Small sizes are given as a number and threads per inch, such as 8-32 or 10-24, and larger sizes as fractions of an inch.
Austenitic stainless steel is generally non-magnetic, although cold-worked parts can show weak magnetism. In wet conditions, keep stainless steel apart from aluminium and galvanised steel with a washer or sleeve, to reduce the risk of galvanic corrosion.

Selecting the right option
Use a hex key that fits the socket exactly, because a loose key rounds out the recess. Stainless socket screws are not the same strength as alloy-steel socket screws, so do not substitute them where the joint depends on high-tensile strength. Use anti-seize on the thread.
