Castor & Trolley Adaptors

Plate-to-Stem Adaptors

Plate-to-stem adaptors convert a plate-mounted castor fitting to a stem format — allowing a stem-type replacement castor to be fitted where the original castor used a flat plate bolt-down configuration. These are commonly needed when upgrading castors on older trolleys, carts and mobile equipment where the original castor has been discontinued and the closest replacement uses a different fitting style. Available in standard stem diameters to suit the most common castor stem sizes.

Stem-to-Plate and Socket Adaptors

Stem-to-plate adaptors convert a stem-mount castor position to a plate-mount format, used where replacement castors are only available in plate format. Top-hat sleeves and socket adaptors convert round tube equipment legs to accept standard friction-stem castors without welding — the sleeve slides over the tube end and the castor stem inserts into the socket fitting below. These are regularly used on stainless steel catering equipment, laboratory benches and light materials handling equipment where the leg is a standard tube section.

Fixing Hardware and Bolt Kits

Castor plate fixing bolt kits provide the correct fastener set for secure castor installation — M8 and M10 set screws, lock washers and nuts in zinc-plated or stainless steel for corrosive environments. Correct fastener grade and adequate torque are important to prevent castor plate movement under load and direction changes. Using the correct bolt kit for the plate pattern and equipment load rating ensures the installation meets the castor’s rated capacity.
