Choosing a container or funnel
Match the container to the fluid and the job. Metal cans and billies suit tough workshop use, and plastic jugs with measuring marks help when you are topping up to a spec. Keep different fluids in separate, clearly labelled containers, and use the coloured Lubemate lids to colour code oils so they do not get mixed. For funnels, a wide mouth and a filter suit refuelling and oil top-ups, while an anti-spill or drum funnel keeps the mess down when you are filling from or into a drum.
Always check the data sheet. Confirm the container is suitable for the fluid you plan to store, particularly fuels, and follow your site rules for storing and labelling flammable liquids.

What is a tin billy?
A tin billy is a metal can with a handle and lid, commonly used on site and in workshops for carrying and holding liquids. We list Cesco tin billies from 1L to 4.5L.
Can I colour code my oil cans?
Yes. The Lubemate oil can lids and spouts come in black, blue, red and yellow, so you can assign a colour to each type of oil and avoid mixing them up.
What funnel suits drum filling?
The Alemlube drum funnel with cover is made for drum filling. For smaller containers, see the Alemlube clean funnels and the Lubemate anti-spill funnels.
Do you have measuring jugs?
Yes. Lubemate plastic measuring jugs with a flexible spout come in 2L and 5L, and there is a combo pack with 600ml, 2L and 5L jugs.
