Choosing a prohibition sign

Pick the sign that names the specific action you want to stop, rather than a general keep out, so people know what the rule is. Check the size and material options on each listing for where it will be mounted. For smoking rules, our dedicated no smoking signs range includes state and territory versions.

Always check the data sheet. Confirm size, material and wording suit your site, and check any requirements that apply to your workplace, before you order.

Prohibition sign FAQs

What does a prohibition sign mean?

A prohibition sign shows an action that is not allowed in an area, for example no entry, no smoking or no forklifts. Use it where you need to stop a specific behaviour rather than warn of a hazard.

What is the difference between a prohibition sign and a danger sign?

A prohibition sign says what must not be done. A danger sign warns of a serious hazard that is present. Many sites use both together, for example a danger sign for the hazard and a prohibition sign for the access rule. See our danger signs.

Do you have no entry and authorised personnel signs?

Yes. The range includes No Entry, No Entry Authorised Persons Only, Keep Out, Strictly No Admittance and Authorised Personnel Only signs. See also our security signs for restricted area wording.

Do you have no forklift and no pedestrian signs?

Yes. Listings include No Forklifts, No Forklifts Beyond This Point, No Pedestrian Access, No Riders and No Walking Or Standing On Conveyor.

What sizes and materials are available?

Brady sign listings commonly offer self-adhesive vinyl, polypropylene and Metal (Colorbond Steel) in several sizes. Check each listing for the size and material variants available.
