Tip tools are small-bore reamers and cleaners used to maintain the orifices on oxy-fuel cutting torch tips, welding nozzles and burner heads. Slag and oxidation build up inside the gas channels as a tip is used; left to accumulate, they distort the flame, reduce cut quality and shorten tip life.
How to use
- Match the cleaner wire diameter to the orifice size. The wire should rotate freely without forcing.
- Run the cleaner straight through without bending it sideways — the orifice geometry is what gives the flame its shape.
- Clean before a tip starts to glaze or misfire, not after. A few seconds of maintenance prevents minutes of tip-change downtime.
