This AAP aluminium camlock adaptor is a Type F: a male camlock end and a male BSP thread. It is supplied in 10 sizes from 1/2 in (15 mm) to 6 in (150 mm).
Camlocks, also known as cam and groove fittings, give a quick connection and disconnection of hose and piping. The male camlock end locks onto a female camlock end of the same size, and the male BSP thread screws into a female threaded port.
It is die-cast aluminium, which AAP describes as the most common and economical of its aluminium range, and it suits general air and water use, agricultural and industrial work (manufacturer-stated, conforming to ASTM B26/B26M).
AAP makes its camlocks to interchange with products made to Mil Spec A-A 59326 (manufacturer-stated). The 1/2 in (15 mm) size is outside that specification and is made to AAP's own specification only. AAP states that the threads are cut to ISO 228. Dimension letters in the table follow the AAP catalogue drawings.

Selecting the right option
Choose the size to match the hose or pipe thread you are connecting, and pair it with a female camlock of the same size (Types B, C or D). Check the mating thread is BSP, because AAP cuts these threads to ISO 228. AAP gives the media as water, oil, powders and some hydrocarbons and chemicals, so check chemical compatibility before use. AAP also lists spare parts for its camlocks: brass handles (code CBH), handle pins (code CP) and NBR gaskets (code CGN), so contact AIMS if you need them.
