This AAP single disc wafer check valve has a cast iron body, a 316 stainless steel disc and spring, an EPDM seat, NBR flange gaskets and a 2Cr13 axle. It is supplied in 11 sizes from 2 in (50 mm) to 16 in (400 mm).

A single disc wafer check valve has one disc on an axle and a spring, and it fits between two pipe flanges. Forward flow pushes the disc open and the spring closes it as flow stops or reverses. AAP does not state which mounting positions the valve suits, so confirm the orientation with AIMS if the valve is not going in horizontal pipework.

AAP gives a maximum working temperature of 120 degrees C and a cold working pressure of 1,000 kPa (10 bar), with flanges to AS 2129 Table E, and lists the valve for water, oil and gas (all manufacturer-stated). EPDM suits water but is not normally used with petroleum oils, so confirm with AIMS before you use this valve on oil.

L is the length of the valve between flanges. AAP does not define D and D1 in text: D appears to be the outside diameter of the valve body and D1 an inner diameter, so check both against your flanges before you order.

Choose the size to match your pipe flanges, and check the seat material suits your fluid and temperature. AAP also lists a dual disc version with a higher 1,600 kPa rating.
