Mitutoyo 547-211A ABSOLUTE Depth Gauge 0-200mm

The Mitutoyo Series 547 is a digital depth gauge with an indicator head on a flat base. It measures depth up to 200mm (8"). Toolrooms, quality control teams and inspectors use it for hole and step depth. The easy-to-read display helps prevent misreading, and a bar graph on the screen shows small movements, such as the approach to tolerance.

It is an absolute type, so it keeps track of its zero point once you set it. It also has a data output function. That lets it send readings to a computer for statistical process control (SPC). Resolution is the smallest step on the display. Accuracy is how far a reading can be out. They are different things, so check both. To choose, take the 547-211A for metric work or the 547-217A if you want to read inches as well.
