How it cools and where it suits

Evaporative coolers draw warm air through a wet media and use the evaporation of water to lower the air temperature, then the fan pushes the cooled air out across the space. Because the effect relies on dry air taking up moisture, these units perform best in hot, low-humidity conditions and are not suitable for humid climates. Water consumption varies with the humidity of the day and the fan speed — the drier and hotter the air, the more effective the cooling.

Features and controls

Both models have an LCD panel and remote control with a 24-hour timer, a water-level sight-tube gauge, and can be refilled through the water inlet or a 3/4" hose fitting. The one-piece moulded polyethylene housing is rust- and leak-proof, and large lockable castors make the units easy to move and park. They require minimal maintenance.
