M6 Allthread Rod, 316 Stainless Steel - ATRA480M6X1000
Available
The Allthread Rod A4-80 High Tensile, 316 Stainless Steel is a straight rod threaded along its full length. It is cut to length and used with nuts and washers to hang, tie, clamp or span between two fixing points.
The range runs to 11 variants, covering sizes M6 to M36. Pack quantities depend on size: packs of 2 to 10.
Supplied in 316 (A4) stainless steel. The molybdenum in A4 gives better resistance to chlorides than A2 (304), so it is the usual choice near the coast, around pools and in marine and food-processing environments. Metric sizes are written M followed by the nominal thread diameter in millimetres, so M10 is a 10 mm thread.
In wet conditions, keep stainless steel apart from aluminium and galvanised steel with a washer or sleeve, to reduce the risk of galvanic corrosion.

Selecting the right option
Match the thread system to the nuts and fittings you already have: metric coarse, metric fine, UNC and BSW rods are not interchangeable. Cut rods can leave a burr, so run a nut over the cut end before use. For indoor and general outdoor use where chlorides are not a concern, the A2 (304) version is the lower-cost option: Allthread Rod 304 Stainless Steel.
