Mitutoyo 0 to 1" IP65 Digimatic Micrometer

The Mitutoyo Series 293 Coolant Proof Micrometer is a digital outside micrometer for machine shops that run cutting oil and coolant. This version reads in inches or millimetres and has no data output. It reads to .00005" or 0.001mm and comes in four sizes: 0 to 1", 1 to 2", 2 to 3" and 3 to 4". The measuring faces are carbide tipped.

Resolution is the smallest step the display shows, and accuracy is a separate figure. Accuracy is ±.00005" on the 0 to 1" and 1 to 2" sizes and ±.0001" on the 3 to 4" size. IP65 is a dust and water rating. It lets you use the micrometer where cutting oil is present, and asks you to apply anti-corrosion treatment after use. The 0 to 1" and 1 to 2" sizes come with a certificate of inspection, which is not the type used to obtain calibration certificates. If you want to log readings, choose the version with SPC output.
