Mitutoyo 0 to 1" IP65 Digimatic Micrometer, SPC

The Mitutoyo Series 293 Coolant Proof Micrometer is a digital outside micrometer for machine shops that run cutting oil and coolant. This version reads in inches or millimetres and has SPC data output. It reads to .00005" or 0.001mm and comes in three sizes: 0 to 1", 1 to 2" and 2 to 3". The measuring faces are carbide tipped.

Resolution is the smallest step the display shows, and accuracy is a separate figure. Accuracy is ±.00005" on the 0 to 1" and 1 to 2" sizes. IP65 is a dust and water rating. It lets you use the micrometer where cutting oil is present, and asks you to apply anti-corrosion treatment after use. SPC output is a data port. With an optional cable it sends readings to a computer or data logger. The cable (05CZA662 at 1m or 05CZA663 at 2m) is not included. The 0 to 1" and 1 to 2" sizes come with a certificate of inspection, which is not the type used to obtain calibration certificates.
