Mitutoyo 0 to 25mm IP65 Digimatic Micrometer

The Mitutoyo Series 293 Coolant Proof Micrometer is a digital outside micrometer for machine shops that run cutting oil and coolant. This version is metric with no data output. It reads to 0.001mm and comes in four sizes: 0 to 25mm, 25 to 50mm, 50 to 75mm and 75 to 100mm. The measuring faces are carbide tipped.

Resolution is the smallest step the display shows, and accuracy is a separate figure. Accuracy is ±1µm on the 0 to 25mm and 25 to 50mm sizes and ±2µm on the 75 to 100mm size. IP65 is a dust and water rating. It lets you use the micrometer where cutting oil is present, and asks you to apply anti-corrosion treatment after use. The 0 to 25mm and 25 to 50mm sizes come with a certificate of inspection, which is not the type used to obtain calibration certificates. If you want to log readings, choose the version with SPC output.
