CRC ETCH-10 (CRC product number 1756401) is a red oxide vinyl etch primer supplied as a 300g aerosol. The resin is a vinyl and epoxy blend, with adhesion and corrosion resistance on ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
It suits key-coating metals, including bare aluminium, stainless steel, brass, copper and galvanised metal surfaces, and it can be overcoated with most standard decorative paint systems for metals.

Using it
Surface preparation: remove signs of corrosion with a wire brush or emery paper or similar. Clean the surface with CRC Brakleen or similar degreaser if required. Where possible, abrade the surface with disc grinding, wire brush or sandpaper.
Directions: shake the can until the agitator ball is moving freely, then for at least 1 further minute. Apply with smooth even strokes to a clean, dry surface, holding the can approximately 25cm from the surface, until the desired coverage is achieved.
When finished spraying, clean the valve by turning the can upside down and pressing the button until only pressure escapes.
Storage and handling
Store in a cool (below 50°C), dry, well ventilated area, away from incompatible substances, heat or ignition sources and foodstuffs.
