Kitten Ultra One Step Tyre Care 1L

Kitten Ultra One Step Tyre Care is a tyre cleaner and dressing. CRC says it cleans, protects and shines tyres in one easy step, leaving a rich satin finish, and lists it for tyres and mud flaps. It removes tyre stains and scuff marks.

It is sold here as a 400g aerosol with a foaming formula and a 1L pack with a non foaming formula. The two formats have different safety classifications: the aerosol is a flammable aerosol, and the liquid is not classified as hazardous.

Using it

Shake well. Cover the tyre wall evenly and allow it to dry. New tyres may need a second treatment.

It can be used on wet or dry tyres, and needs no rinsing, wiping or rubbing. If tyres are excessively dirty or muddy, rinse them with water first.

The aerosol is sprayed on the tyre wall in one circular motion. The 1L liquid is poured into a spray applicator or brushed on; see the variant details.

Storage and handling

400g aerosol: do not puncture, incinerate or store above 50 °C, and keep away from live electrical sources, as aerosol cans conduct electricity (CRC data sheet). CRC gives a conditional warranty of 5 years from the date of manufacture.

Limits and safety

Not recommended for use on two wheeled vehicles. Do not use on plastics or on any surface inside vehicles. Do not treat tyres on driveways, as the residual cleaner may cause stains. Classification differs by pack: the 400g aerosol is WARNING, a Category 2 flammable aerosol (pressurised container that may burst if heated), UN 1950 Class 2.1; the 1L liquid is not classified as hazardous under Safe Work Australia criteria and is not a dangerous good. Frequently asked questions

Can Kitten Ultra One Step Tyre Care be used on motorcycle tyres?

No. CRC's data sheet says it is not recommended for use on two wheeled vehicles.

Do I need to wipe or rinse after applying?

CRC says no rinsing, wiping or rubbing is needed: apply and leave. It can be used on wet or dry tyres, and if tyres are excessively dirty or muddy, rinse with water first.

Is the 400g aerosol dangerous goods?

Yes. The safety data sheet (03 Apr 2025) lists it as UN 1950 Aerosols, Class 2.1, a Category 2 flammable aerosol. The 1L liquid is not classified as hazardous or as a dangerous good.

Where should I not use it?

Not on plastics or any surface inside vehicles, and not on tyres standing on driveways because the residual cleaner may cause stains.

What is the difference between the aerosol and the 1L?

CRC describes the aerosol as a foaming formula and the 1L as a non foaming formula. They also have different safety classifications.

Is it an acid-based cleaner?

No. CRC describes it as a non-acid formula with a pH of 9.5 to 10.0.
