Rust Converter

A rust converter is a coating that chemically reacts with existing rust on metal surfaces, turning it into a stable, paintable layer rather than blasting or grinding it off. CRC Rust Converter is a single-step, fast-drying treatment for lightly rusted or correctly prepared steel — no additional mixing, no chemical additives, and compatible with most standard decorative paints over the top. Stocked in 250 ml, 425 g, 1 litre and 5 litre sizes for maintenance, scheduled repair and preventative programs.

Is CRC Rust Converter any good?

CRC Rust Converter is positioned for lightly rusted or correctly prepared metal surfaces — meaning loose scale and flaking rust should be wire-brushed off first, leaving a tightly adhered rust layer for the product to convert. It dries fast, needs no mixing, and accepts standard decorative paints once cured, which makes it a practical fit for scheduled maintenance, emergency repairs and preventative programs across general industrial and trade work. For heavily corroded or structural surfaces, mechanical removal back to bare metal followed by a proper primer system is still the right approach.
