GE19 Curved Jaw Coupling Element, 98 Shore A Red, 17 Nm

Replacement elements for curved jaw couplings, in sizes GE19 to GE90, in two hardnesses: 92 Shore A (yellow) and 98 Shore A (red). The element sits between the curved jaws of the two hubs, takes up shock and vibration, and is the part that wears.

In every size the red 98 Shore A element has a rated torque above that of the yellow 92 Shore A element. The rated torque and maximum speed for each size and colour are listed below.

Selecting and fitting

Choose the element by coupling size, then by hardness. Pick the 98 Shore A red element when the drive needs the larger rated torque listed for the size, and the 92 Shore A yellow element when the rated torque listed for yellow is enough. Both fit the same hubs, so the hardness can be changed at a service.

Hubs are on Curved Jaw Coupling Stepped Half, Pilot Bore, Curved Jaw Coupling Full Half, Pilot Bore, Curved Jaw Coupling Flange Taperlock Half and Curved Jaw Coupling Hub Taperlock Half.

Replace a worn or cracked element before it lets the jaws touch. Isolate the drive before working on the coupling. Align the two shafts as closely as you can before fitting the coupling, and check the alignment again once the coupling is fitted. Good alignment gives the longest life, whatever the coupling type.
