NACHI 6001-2NSE9C3 Sealed Deep Groove Ball Bearing 12x28x8 mm, C3

This NACHI range covers 3 single row deep groove ball bearings, contact sealed, all with C3 radial internal clearance, from 12 to 35 mm bore (outer diameters 28 to 72 mm, widths 8 to 17 mm). Deep groove bearings are the most widely used ball bearing type. They carry radial, axial and combined loads, run at high speed with high running accuracy, and need no adjustment. The 3 bearings with a 9 in the number (for example 6001-2NSE9C3) are NACHI QUEST bearings with heat-resistant nitrile seals and NACHI high-performance grease.

• Two contact rubber seals (2NSE9) retain the factory grease fill and give excellent dust and water proofing, including in severe dust environments
• Seal contact adds friction torque, so limiting speed is lower than the equivalent open or shielded bearing
• NACHI QUEST bearings (suffix 9): heat-resistant nitrile seals and NACHI high-performance grease, with two times the grease life of NACHI’s conventional grease at 120 °C
• C3 radial internal clearance, larger than Normal: 11 to 25 µm on a 12 mm bore up to 15 to 33 µm on a 35 mm bore

Selecting the right option

Contact-sealed bearings (NSE, NSL, NS) give the best dust and water proofing of the three closure types and can run in severe dust. The trade-off is higher friction torque and a lower limiting speed. The filled grease can leak at high speed or high temperature, or if the outer ring rotates. For standard filled grease the recommended temperature range is -25 to 100 °C.

Choose C3 where the bearing will run with an interference fit or a temperature difference between the rings, which both take up clearance; keep Normal clearance for light fits and low temperature rise. The Model Details give the exact micrometre range for each size.

Fitting and use

Check the load and speed against the catalogue figures in the table before ordering, and apply a suitable safety factor. These bearings must always carry a minimum radial load so the balls roll rather than slide, and heavy axial loads should be checked with AIMS before ordering.

Press the ring that is being fitted, not the other ring or the balls: force goes through the side face of the inner ring on a shaft and the outer ring in a housing.

Sealed bearings are built for inner ring rotation, so they are not suited to high speed outer ring rotation. Do not wash or heat sealed bearings before mounting.
