NSK 6202DDUC3 Sealed Deep Groove Ball Bearing, C3 15 x 35 x 11 mm

This NSK range covers 2 single row deep groove ball bearings with two contact rubber seals (DDU) and C3 radial internal clearance: the 6202DDUC3 and 6204DDUC3, from 15 to 20 mm bore and 35 to 47 mm outer diameter. Deep groove bearings are the most widely used ball bearing type. They carry radial loads and axial loads in both directions, run at high speed and need no adjustment. The two contact rubber seals (DDU) hold the grease in and keep dust and splashes out. C3 radial internal clearance is larger than Normal, which suits interference fits and bearings that run warm.

Selecting the right option

Contact rubber seals (DDU) give better protection against dust, dirt and splashes than shields and hold the factory grease in. The seal lips add friction, so a sealed bearing has a lower limiting speed than a shielded bearing of the same size, and a high speed application is better served by a shielded bearing.

C3 radial internal clearance is larger than Normal (CN). Choose C3 where the bearing will run with an interference fit on the shaft or in the housing, or where the inner ring will run warmer than the outer ring, because both take up clearance. Keep Normal clearance for light fits, low temperature rise and quiet running.

Fitting and use

Check the load and speed against the figures for your size before ordering and apply a suitable safety factor. Deep groove bearings must always carry a minimum radial load so the balls roll rather than slide, and heavy axial loads should be checked with AIMS before ordering.

Press on the ring that is being fitted, not the other ring or the balls: force goes through the side face of the inner ring on a shaft and through the outer ring in a housing.

Sealed bearings are lubricated at the factory and built for inner ring rotation. Do not wash them or heat them before mounting, and do not rely on them for high speed outer ring rotation.
