Mitutoyo 505-740J Dial Caliper 0-6" Inch

The Mitutoyo Series 505 inch dial caliper measures outside size, inside size, depth and steps, and shows the fine part of the reading on a round dial. The dial reads in 0.001" steps, with one turn of the pointer for each 0.2". It suits toolrooms, fitters, inspectors and apprentices who work in inches. The yellow dial reduces the effect of parallax and the large finger rest makes the caliper easy to use.

To read it, take the main scale reading and add the dial reading. Graduation is the smallest step the dial shows. Maximum permissible error is the most a reading can be out, so check both. To choose, pick the range you need: 0 to 6" is the finest, with ±0.001", and the 0 to 8" and 0 to 12" models are ±0.002".
