Mitutoyo 2046A Dial Indicator 10mm 0.01mm

The Mitutoyo 2046A is a Series 2 standard type dial indicator with 10mm of travel and 0.01mm graduation. It its most popular indicator, with excellent accuracy and durability. Machinists, toolrooms, fitters and inspectors use it for comparing parts, checking runout and setting up work. The case is oil- and water-tight, with quenched hardened stainless steel, a carbide contact point and a grand gear made of wear- and deformation-resistant material. An anti-reflective, hard surface coating improves scale visibility and resists scratches and chemicals.

Range is how far the plunger can travel, and the 1mm in brackets is how far it moves for one turn of the pointer. Graduation is the smallest step on the dial. Error is how far a reading can be out: 5 µm over a tenth of a turn, 9 µm over half a turn, 10 µm over one turn and 13 µm over the full range. For longer travel, look at the Series 2 long stroke indicators. For finer reading, look at the Series 2 models that read to a smaller step.
