• Diamond core drills and hole saws require the use of proper lubrication, correct drill speed and proper pressure.
• 1-1/4" UNC is the international standard fitment used on most diamond core drill machines.
• When core drilling in concrete it is important to deliver water internally to the cutting edge to ensure the diamond is kept cool and debris is removed.
• To prevent damage to the diamond segments it is important that the drilling rig is securely mounted preventing rocking and vibration.
• Diamond core drills only drill out a portion of the resulting hole so they drill much faster than conventional blunt nose drills.
• The life of any type of diamond drill depends upon the hardness, abrasiveness and thickness of the material being drilled and the specific drilling techniques used.
• Using diamond core drills in hard materials is not difficult, however drilling the hole takes time.
• You should consider that they aren't "drilling" a hole - they are "grinding" a hole.
