Gilly Beeswax Filler Sticks (6 Pack)

• Pure beeswax sticks are designed for filling cracks and holes in timber. 
• Can be buffed to a fine finish and coated with most materials.

• Each stick measures 83mm long with a diameter of 15mm.

Used For

• Repairing cracks and small holes in most wood surfaces larger than about 1mm deep.
• Tiny cracks and imperfections can be filled with our Cabinet Makers Wax. Sold separately.

Surface Preparation

• Ensure the surface is clean and dry before application. Beeswax Filler Sticks should be used before any application of oil, wax or lacquer finish.

How to Apply

• Sticks can be melted in a number of ways depending on the application.
• Generally, they can be easily melted with a candle/lighter and dripped into the gap needing filling.
• Alternatively, you can soften one in a microwave (test in increments of a few seconds - it just needs to be malleable), then the softened stick can be pushed into the gap.
• Another method is to chip off the quantity required and melt it into the gap using a heat gun or hair dryer (heat gun or hair dryer not included). This needs to be done carefully as the additional heat may affect the surrounding finish. Exercise caution when melting as the wax is moderately flammable in this state. 
• In all cases scrape back any excess immediately using a plastic spatula or credit card before the wax hardens.

Dry Time

• 10 to 30 minutes depending on ambient temperature.

Clean Up

• Citrus solvent or mineral turpentine.
