The Hex Flange Screw T17 A4 (316) is a hex head screw with an integral flange and a Type 17 (T17) point. The T17 point is a cutting point designed to start in timber without a pilot hole in many applications.

This listing has 15 variants covering sizes 12G-11 to 14G-10 and lengths 22 cm to 90 cm. Variants are supplied in packs of 250 to 1000, depending on size.

Supplied in 316 (A4) stainless steel. The molybdenum in A4 gives better resistance to chlorides than A2 (304), so it is the usual choice near the coast, around pools and in marine and food-processing environments.

Austenitic stainless steel is generally non-magnetic, although cold-worked parts can show weak magnetism. In wet conditions, keep stainless steel apart from aluminium and galvanised steel with a washer or sleeve, to reduce the risk of galvanic corrosion.
