NM-97 Flexible Jaw Coupling Pilot Bore Hub, 12 to 42 mm
Available
Pilot bore hubs for NM series flexible jaw couplings, size NM-97. NM series flexible jaw couplings have a distinctive element that weaves in and out between the jaws. The ring has high internal damping, so when the drive reaches a dangerous speed range the coupling limits the torsional oscillation and protects the linked machines. Elements are nitrile rubber (NBR, grade Pb72) in 72 and 82 Shore A hardness, with a temperature range of -40 °C to +120 °C.
Each listing is one hub. The hub has a pilot bore, so you can have it bored and keywayed to suit your shaft within the bore range of the size. A complete coupling needs two hubs and one element.

Selecting and fitting
Choose the size from the torque and the shaft sizes, and apply a service factor for the type of machine. The nominal torque is the continuous rating and the maximum torque is the peak rating listed for the size. The power rating is listed in kW per rpm, so multiply it by the speed in rpm for the power at your speed.
The matching element is Flexible Jaw Coupling Nitrile Element.
Isolate the drive before working on the coupling. Align the two shafts as closely as you can before fitting the coupling, and check the alignment again once the coupling is fitted. Good alignment gives the longest life, whatever the coupling type.
Dimensions are as listed in the manufacturer catalogue and are for reference. Contact AIMS to confirm a measurement if it is critical to your application.
