Made in 316 (A4) stainless steel, the Jaw-Jaw Open Body Turnbuckle With Lock Nuts is an adjustable tensioning fitting with a jaw at each end. Turning the open body tightens or loosens the line, and lock nuts hold the setting.

The A4 (316) grade is stainless steel with added molybdenum, which helps it hold up where salt, pool chemicals or washdown chemicals are present. It is the more corrosion-resistant of the two common stainless grades, at a higher cost than 304. Metric sizes are written M followed by the nominal thread diameter in millimetres, so M10 is a 10 mm thread.

Austenitic stainless steel is generally non-magnetic, although cold-worked parts can show weak magnetism. Use stainless washers and nuts with stainless fasteners, so the whole joint is made of the same material.
