Red Loctite refers to Loctite's red-coloured threadlocker range — anaerobic-curing adhesives applied to bolt threads to stop fasteners loosening under shock and vibration. The red grades are higher strength than the blue grades and are intended for fasteners that aren't meant to be disassembled regularly. Loctite 262 is a general-purpose, high-strength, red anaerobic threadlocker in a 50 ml bottle, used where the adhesive must stay put and the joint needs to resist heavy vibration.
