Loctite 262 Acrylic Anaerobic Threadlocker

Medium to high strength permanent locking for large bolts and studs up to M25. Holds against heavy shock and vibration and seals threads against leakage. Thixotropic formula stays put and fixtures in 10 minutes on steel. Loctite 262 is a red anaerobic threadlocker for fasteners not meant for routine removal. To disassemble, heat the nut or bolt locally to about 250°C and remove while hot; on passive metals or below 5°C, use Loctite SF 7649 or SF 7471 activator.

Strength: medium to high — permanent locking; heat needed for removal. Viscosity (Brookfield RVT, 25°C): 1,200–1,400 mPa·s, thixotropic. Fixture time (steel): 10 minutes. Breakaway torque (M10 steel nuts and bolts, 24 hours at 22°C): 22 N·m. Prevail torque (M10 steel nuts and bolts): 32 N·m. Thread size: large bolts and studs up to M25. Operating temperature: -55°C to +150°C. Approvals: ABS; ASTM D5363; MIL-S-46163A (existing designs); NSF. Storage: 8°C to 21°C, dry, in the unopened container.
