High strength, low viscosity — permanently locks and seals threaded fasteners up to M25. Resists loosening and leakage under heavy shock and vibration. Fixtures in 5 to 15 minutes and fluoresces under UV light for checking. Loctite 271 is a red anaerobic threadlocker for studs and bolts on motor mounts, gearboxes, pumps and machine tools, rated from -55°C to +150°C. It is a permanent grade — heat the fastener locally to about 250°C and undo it while hot. Not normally recommended for plastics.

Breakaway torque (M10 steel, 24 h): 17–40 N·m. Operating temperature: -55°C to +150°C. Approvals: tested to Mil-S-46163A lot requirements; ASTM D5363; UL classified MH8007 (regional approvals).
