M5 (3.2mm Wire) Swage/swage Rigging Screw, 316 Stainless Steel - 488
Available
This 316 stainless steel swage/swage rigging screw is a rigging screw that tensions wire rope. It has a swage end at each end for wire rope, and turning the body tightens or loosens the line.
This listing covers one size: M5 (3.2mm Wire). Each variant is supplied in packs of 10.
The A4 (316) grade is stainless steel with added molybdenum, which helps it hold up where salt, pool chemicals or washdown chemicals are present. It is the more corrosion-resistant of the two common stainless grades, at a higher cost than 304. Metric sizes are written M followed by the nominal thread diameter in millimetres, so M10 is a 10 mm thread.
Stainless threads can gall (seize) when tightened under load or at speed. A smear of anti-seize on the thread and a steady tightening speed reduce the risk.
