The Mack Octane Zip is a six inch composite toe safety boot with a zip closure for easy access and a quick exit in an emergency. Mack suggests it for electricians and construction workers who work on uneven surfaces and can be exposed to electric currents (manufacturer-stated). The upper is full grain leather in black and nubuck leather in honey, with retro-reflective material, a heavy duty breathable tongue and a wide, lightweight, metal free composite toe cap.
The sole is nitrile rubber, listed as heat resistant to 300 degrees C, slip resistant and fuel oil resistant, and it reduces the flow of electric current.
