M4 Hex Serrated Flange Nut, 304 Stainless Steel - XFNA2M4
Available
The Metric Hex Serrated Flange Nut, 304 Stainless Steel is available in 6 sizes (M4 to M12) and is a hex nut with an integral flange and serrations on the flange face. The flange spreads the load like a washer and the serrations bite into the surface to resist loosening.
A2 stainless (grade 304) gives sound general corrosion resistance for inside work, fresh water and ordinary outdoor exposure. It is not the grade normally chosen for coastal, pool or marine work, where A4 (316) is recommended. Metric sizes are written M followed by the nominal thread diameter in millimetres, so M10 is a 10 mm thread.
You can choose from 6 variants, covering sizes M4 to M12. Each variant is supplied in packs of 100.
Stainless threads can gall (seize) when tightened under load or at speed. A smear of anti-seize on the thread and a steady tightening speed reduce the risk.

Selecting the right option
The serrations mark the surface they bite into, so use a flat washer where the finish must not be marked. Use anti-seize on the thread. Near the coast, around pools or in marine settings, use the A4 (316) version instead: Metric Hex Serrated Flange Nut - 316 Stainless Steel.
