About Diamond Tools

• Diamond and CBN abrasives are used when materials cannot be machined with conventional abrasives such as aluminium oxide or silicon carbide.

Grit Size

• Selecting the optimum grit size depends on the intended application, the material to be machined, the tool drive employed, and a wide range of other factors.
• As a general rule: The harder the material to be worked and the finer the desired surface roughness, the finer the selected grit size should be.
• The recommended cutting speed ranges depend on the application and must not exceed the maximum permissible peripheral speed. Because of the wide range of tasks and application fields of electroplated diamond and CBN tools, as well as the large influence of the employed tool drive, it is not possible to specify a generally valid cutting speed.
