SKF Speedi-Sleeve Shaft Repair Sleeve, 28.702 x 7.95mm
Available
The SKF Speedi-Sleeve is a thin-walled stainless steel sleeve that is pushed over the worn area of a shaft, giving a new surface for a radial shaft seal lip to run on. There is no shaft disassembly or machining involved.
Because the sleeve builds the shaft back up to its original size, the same size of seal as the original can be fitted. Each sleeve is made for a specific shaft diameter range, usually either side of the nominal shaft diameter, which allows for variation in the actual shaft diameter. Part number 99868 is the Speedi-Sleeve Gold. This is a clearance item and is sold as-is. No returns or exchanges apply.

Choosing the right option
Measure the shaft on an unworn section, at three positions, and choose the sleeve whose shaft range includes the average. Pick a seal with a shaft size that matches the sleeve outside diameter. A shaft repair sleeve is not for a position where a bearing fits on the shaft.
Clean the seal contact area and remove burrs before fitting, and never use heat to install the sleeve. The flange can usually be left on. Remove it where it would interfere with other components or restrict lubricant to the seal. To remove it, cut it once from the outside diameter into the radius before installation, then twist it up and coil it off with long-nosed pliers after the sleeve is fitted. For a seal to fit, see: SKF HMSA10 RG radial shaft seal and SKF CRW1 R radial shaft seal.
