Koyo 22210RZW33C3 Spherical Roller Bearing, Cylindrical bore, 50 x 90 x 23 mm

This Koyo spherical roller bearing (cylindrical bore, 222 series, RH/RHR type) has a large load rating and is self-aligning, so it is insensitive to alignment errors between the shaft and housing and to shaft bending. It suits low to medium speed applications with heavy or impact loads, and accommodates radial load and axial load in both directions. The RH/RHR type has convex symmetrical rollers, a pressed steel cage and a centre guide ring instead of a rib.

The range has 8 sizes, with bores from 50 to 85 mm. Every size has C3 radial internal clearance, larger than normal, and the W33 outer ring lubrication groove with 3 lubrication holes. Boundary dimensions are to JIS B 1512 and tolerances to JIS B 1514-1 class 0. Koyo bearings are made by JTEKT Corporation.

Selecting the right option

Select by bore d first, then check the outside diameter D and width B in the table against your housing.

The ratings, limiting speeds and masses are the Koyo catalogue figures for the RHR type of the same size, listed as 22210RHR to 22217RHR. Confirm the designation marked on the bearing for critical duty.

Dynamic equivalent radial load is Pr = Fr + Y1 Fa when Fa/Fr is e or less, and Pr = 0.67 Fr + Y2 Fa when Fa/Fr is greater than e. Static equivalent radial load is P0r = Fr + Y0 Fa. The values of e, Y1, Y2 and Y0 for each size are in the variant specification.

If Fa/Fr is greater than e, slippage can occur between the rollers in the rows that are not axially loaded and the raceway, which may cause smearing, especially in large bearings. Consult JTEKT or AIMS Industrial for use under those conditions.

C3 is a radial internal clearance larger than normal. It is chosen where interference fits or a temperature difference between the rings take up clearance in service. Confirm the clearance class for your application.

Fitting and use

Check the mounting dimensions in the variant specification: the shaft shoulder diameter da, housing shoulder diameter Da and fillet radius ra give the shoulder sizes and radius limits for the mating parts.

The W33 lubrication groove and holes are in the outer ring. Line them up with the lubrication point in the housing.
