M5 Square Nut, 316 Stainless Steel - SNUA4M5
Available
Made in 316 (A4) stainless steel, the Square Nut is a four-sided nut. It sits against a flat face and resists turning in a channel or slot.
This listing has 5 variants covering sizes M5 to M12. Pack quantities depend on size: packs of 50 to 100.
The A4 (316) grade is stainless steel with added molybdenum, which helps it hold up where salt, pool chemicals or washdown chemicals are present. It is the more corrosion-resistant of the two common stainless grades, at a higher cost than 304. Metric sizes are written M followed by the nominal thread diameter in millimetres, so M10 is a 10 mm thread.
Austenitic stainless steel is generally non-magnetic, although cold-worked parts can show weak magnetism. Use stainless washers and nuts with stainless fasteners, so the whole joint is made of the same material.
