The Sutton M454 SDN4 is a 10 piece UNF (Unified National Fine) die nut set in a metal case: 10 hexagon die nuts from 1/4" to 1", for cleaning and resizing existing damaged threads.
Made from carbon alloy steel. Carbon alloy steel threading tools are not suitable for precision, safety or critical threads: they are for general purpose and DIY use only. The hexagon dies are best suited for maintenance and repair work and can be used with a wrench or socket in limited space. The solid metal case suits storage and transportation, its slim line design fits a tool chest, drawers or work bench, and the layout chart quickly identifies the location of each item.

Using the die nuts
- Clean dirt and rust from the damaged thread, then choose the die nut that matches the thread size and TPI.
- Start the die square on the thread, turning forward and backing off regularly to break the chip.
- Use a cutting fluid suited to the material being threaded.
- Die nuts are designed to clean and resize existing threads. For a new thread on plain stock, use a button die from the threading dies and sets range.
- Use for general purpose and DIY threads only.
