The Sutton T422 is a spiral point (gun) tap (intermediate chamfer) for UNC threads, made from premium grade high speed steel (HSSE) with a bright finish. This listing covers 11 sizes from #4 x 40 TPI to 3/4 x 10 TPI.
The gun (spiral point) nose curls the chip forward, ahead of the tap and out of the hole, so chip clogging is avoided and coolant can flow without problems. It suits through holes. The tap has a intermediate chamfer (Form D, 3.5 to 5 threads on the lead), generally for through holes.
The tap is built to ISO 529: short machine tap construction.
