The Svenic Tuck Pointing mortar applicator is a specialist tool for applying pointing mortars and grouts when repointing brick and masonry joints. It comes with two taper-fit nozzles: black for pointing and wide joints, and grey for tile grouting and narrow joints. Svenic lists a 12:1 trigger ratio, a 2.5 kN maximum force and low to medium viscosity materials (manufacturer-stated).
The barrels are plastic, so they are inexpensive to replace, and the plunger is an adjustable rubber seal held between steel washers. A patented wear-compensating device keeps the action consistent, the plunger rod and drive components are case hardened, and the frame is steel with an epoxy paint finish (manufacturer-stated).
Mortars containing sharp sand or coarse aggregates will not flow under pressure. Use free-flowing or specialty mortars with fine, soft sand, or Svenic grouts made for the gun (manufacturer-stated).
