Thor says the rawhide head gives a large striking surface with a relatively light weight. It is made from water-buffalo hide, tightly coiled, pressed three times under powerful hydraulic presses and seasoned for many months (manufacturer-stated). Thor adds that buffalo hide was originally the only material used for its soft striking faces (manufacturer-stated).

Selecting the right option

Match the face to the work: 32 mm (TH110, size 1) for small, fine jobs up to 50 mm (TH116, size 4) for a larger striking surface. TH114 and TH116 are both 305 mm long, so the difference between those two is head size and weight. Any striking tool carries some risk, so take care to prevent injury to yourself and damage to the work.
